Department of Defense EPSCoR (DEPSCoR)
The Department of Defense EPSCoR (DEPSCoR) program is designed to strengthen research capacity in states that historically receive a smaller share of DoD research funding. It builds partnerships between researchers in EPSCoR jurisdictions and DoD laboratories, advancing defense-relevant science while broadening participation in the national security research enterprise.
Purpose
DEPSCoR aims to:
- Increase competitiveness for DoD research funding
- Strengthen research infrastructure in DEPSCoR states
- Build partnerships with DoD labs and researchers
- Expand the defense STEM workforce
- Ensure broader geographic participation in national security research
Eligibility
- DEPSCoR eligibility generally aligns with NSF EPSCoR states and territories.
- These jurisdictions historically receive a smaller share of federal R&D funding, particularly within the DoD research portfolio.
